Your Massimo Warrior 1000 MXD is a rebadged CFMoto UForce 1000 with a Hisun 1000cc engine and Delphi MT05 ECU controlling an electronic drive-by-wire throttle. The Delphi MT05 ECU ships with an overly aggressive throttle curve — tiny pedal movements map to large throttle openings. This is a widely documented complaint across CFMoto/Hisun forums.
What: Wedge a piece of high-density foam, a folded mouse pad, or a rubber doorstop between the pedal arm and the floorboard. This adds physical resistance so your foot has to push harder, damping out the jerkiness.
Why: Doesn't change the ECU curve but gives your foot more mechanical feedback, masking the sensitivity. Most popular DIY fix on CFMoto forums.
Difficulty: Easy
What: Reset the Delphi MT05 ECU so it re-learns the throttle position sensor (TPS) range:
1. Key OFF. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Wait 10+ minutes (drains ECU capacitors and clears volatile memory).
3. Reconnect battery. Key ON (don't start). Wait 30 seconds — you'll hear the throttle body cycle.
4. Slowly press the gas pedal to the floor and release 3 times over 10 seconds.
5. Key OFF for 10 seconds. Then start normally.
Why: Forces the ECU to re-calibrate the TPS 0-100% range. Helps if the learned curve has drifted.
Difficulty: Easy
What: Remove the intake tube and clean the throttle body butterfly valve and bore with throttle body cleaner and a rag. Carbon buildup can make the valve stick slightly, causing a jerky on/off transition.
Difficulty: Medium
What: Some owners report the pedal assembly itself has slight play or mounting flex. Check all mounting bolts are tight. Some have shimmed the pedal angle slightly to change the leverage ratio.
Difficulty: Medium
What: The electronic throttle pedal module itself may be defective. CFMoto had a TSB for 2022 models. OEM part # 5HY0-105000. 2023+ modules are improved but not fully cured — even some 2024 owners report residual jerkiness.
Difficulty: Dealer install
What: A softer-engaging clutch kit (like EPI or CVTech) smooths the initial bite. This HELPS but doesn't cure the throttle curve — it masks the symptom at the drivetrain rather than the source.
Difficulty: Shop install
What: Main Street Cycle (MSC) — 1295 Main St, Tishomingo, Mississippi 38873 — offers their "TEAM MSC CFMOTO ECU TUNE" service that reflashes the Delphi MT05 ECU with a corrected throttle map to smooth the low-end curve. Customers drive from Texas to Mississippi for this specialized ECU service. You can ship them your ECU, they flash and return it (~1 week turnaround). Multiple CFMoto/Hisun owners confirm this is the only permanent solution.

- Protocol note: Delphi MT05 uses a non-standard protocol — standard OBD-II readers won't work without an adapter. This is why a specialist reflash is needed.
